I get it. The thought’s that keeping you from joining this $0.00 training?

“Here comes another influencer telling me to ‘FOLLOW TRENDS’ and ‘USE TRENDING AUDIO TO GROW’ 🙄” 

If that were true, I’d roll my eyes too.

This isn’t the first time you’ve heard that adopting algorithm-loving trends to showcase your style is one of the most effective ways to grow your page as a creator. (Although it’s true, you don’t need yet another creator telling you that.)

But, that’s why I’m setting myself apart right now by exposing its sinister underbelly…

Because trend hunting is ALSO a surefire way to fall into a comparison loop. 

Before you know it, you’re hyper-fixating on the creator who stopped your scroll. 

“Wow looks like she already works with brands and we have the same number of followers”

“Her reels are doing so well. It sucks that mine aren’t”

“Ugh, her page is so beautiful and professional. I wish I had that”

…and the list goes on. 

Did I hit the bull’s eye? If so, you’re not alone. 

Even after 7 years of being here, I still have moments where I’d look at another successful creator, thinking to myself “I need to improve my editing,” “I’ve got to be more creative with my transitions!” “I wish I could feel more confident recording voiceovers for my Reels.” 

The list goes on and on.

It’s all part of the package for someone whose lives revolve around social media.

But before you spiral into self-doubt, here are 2 things you should know ⬇️

1) You are NOT starting at the same point as the other creator. 100%. Even if it looks like it. 

Maybe they had a previous career in filmmaking, which gives them a good grasp of camera angles. 

Maybe they were in sales before, so negotiating big brand deals comes easy to them. 

Heck, maybe they had an IG page for their dog during college so they might have some know-how on the algorithm. 

The point is, every person has a unique point of entry as a content creator. You cannot compare your day 0 with theirs – simply because doing so is NOT accurate. 

2 ) It takes years to become an “overnight success”. 

There’s no substitute for hard work and the right mindset. Plus, the success you see didn’t even happen in one go (I mean, everyone gains 100 and loses 50 followers in a day, right? 😉)

It takes YEARS of sacrifice to get to the top – and I’ve pulled back the curtain on mine in this post. 

Nothing kills your confidence faster than comparison. 

Which is why, it’s the #1 habit you must kill today. You’re simply too talented to waste your potential on not feeling good enough.

And the key to doing that👆🏻? 

FOCUS ON YOU – YOUR CONTENT, YOUR ANALYTICS, YOUR STRENGTHS. 

Here’s how I do that, as a 7-figure creator who still has her low moments 👇🏻

✅ Create my content FIRST before hopping on the app to explore trends. This allows me to freely express myself without much external influence. Which always gives me the best ideas that feel true to my brand. 

✅ No competitor analysis, only content analysis. The only questions I ask myself when I scroll for inspiration are: why did it make me stop scrolling and pay attention? Once I have the answer, I write it down on my monthly content calendar. That’s it. 

✅ Make a mental/physical note of why I love my content. This helps me stay grounded. It helps me see my hard work and talent clearly. I usually riff on “I love this post/Reel because _____” and write 1 thing I love.

Remember, you have everything it takes to become a successful creator like the ones you drool over online. You just have to put in your 1% every. single. day.
