The 10 most instagrammable places in Singapore

May 27, 2020

If Singapore isn’t on your list of must-travel destinations, you need to add it!  Singapore is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, full of Instagram-worthy photo ops at every turn.  In fact, even though Singapore is relatively tiny in comparison to other world-famous cities, you’ll probably be overwhelmed with all of the choices available to you for your photo backdrops.  So, today I’m going to tell you the 10 most instagrammable places to visit in Singapore – so you’ll know exactly where to head when your plane touches the ground.

Gardens by the Bay

Located in the Central Region of Singapore, Gardens by the Bay is home to 3 beautiful waterfront gardens, spread out over 101 hectares and in close proximity to the Marina Reservoir.   For the best instagrammable photos, choose a location in the Gardens with views of the Supertree Grove and the Marina Bay Sands Hotel.

Cloud Forest

The Cloud Forest is easily one of the best places to take pictures for a gorgeous Insta feed.  Located inside Gardens By the Bay, this indoor dome is filled with lush vegetation and the world’s largest indoor waterfall.  Make sure you get there early (or have lots of patience if you don’t), so you can get the perfect moment alone in this beautiful backdrop.

ArtScience Museum

So far I’ve told you about some of the gorgeous outdoor photo ops in Singapore, but there is much more than just outdoor beauty in this city!  You’ll definitely want to check out the ArtScience Museum located downtown in Marina Bay.  Here you’ll find FUTURE WORLD, an interactive series of art exhibits that offer breathtaking and incredible instagrammable shots throughout.

Japanese Cemetery Park

The Japanese Cemetery Park is the largest cemetery in Southeast Asia and a perfect spot to take your Instagram photos.  Just remember, it is a cemetery, housing over 910 tombstones and steeped in ancient traditions – so be sure to be respectful when taking your shots.  It’s a little far from downtown, so if you’re mapping out your trip, be sure to take that into consideration.  While you’re there, make sure you take lots of pictures under the beautiful bougainvillea flower arches located throughout the cemetery.

Little India

Singapore is known for it’s beautiful and colorful neighborhoods – and Little India is no exception – it’s the perfect backdrop for your Instagram photos.  The streets are vibrant and busy, filled with fun cafes and vendors selling brightly colored jewelry and clothing.  The colorful house Tan Tengh Niah if my favorite spot in Little India to take fun, Instagram worthy photos to brighten up your feed.

Library at Orchard

A library might seem like an unusual place to take pictures, but this is one place you won’t want to miss. Located in central Singapore, you’ll find beautiful bookcases throughout but the best instagrammable photo op can be found upstairs – the view below is breathtaking and sure to wow your followers!

Old Hill Street Police Station

The Old Hill Street Police Station is one of the best-known tourist destinations in Singapore.  This historic building is a former police station and the perfect place for photos, especially on a gorgeous, sunny day.  The colorful building will make your photos come to life and leave your followers in awe.

The Ritz Carlton Bedroom and Bathtub

The Ritz Carlton Suite in Singapore offers gorgeous views of Marina Bay and the entire city.  Take a photo here when the city lights up at night, at sunset or during the day under a crystal blue sky for amazing shots to add to your Instagram feed.

Kampong Glam Neighborhood

Just as its name suggests, the Kampong Glam Neighborhood in North Singapore is a fabulous spot for glam and over-the-top gorgeous pictures to brighten up your Instagram.  I suggest visiting two places in particular in this neighborhood for the perfect shots – The Masjid Sultan Arch with a temple in the background and Haji Lane – another colorful and vibrant Singapore destination filled with fun shops and cafes.

Peranakan Houses

The last instagrammable photo spot on our journey through Singapore is the Peranakan Houses – and you’re not going to want to miss this one.  The colorful houses are perfect backdrops for your photos and you have your choice of colors to take the shot that will fit perfectly in your Instagram feed for every occasion.

Have you packed your bags and booked your flight yet?  Singapore really is one of the most beautiful and instagrammable places on the planet.  Use this list to snag the perfect shots and then come find me on Instagram (@professionaltraveler) and tell me about your adventures!
